The UK Pantomime Association is delighted to announce Butlin’s as their headline sponsor for the 2021/2022 Season Pantomime Awards.
Just like pantomime, Butlin’s is a British institution that continues to provide fun for all the family with live shows at all three of its resorts – Bognor Regis, Skegness and Minehead. With Butlin’s a huge supporter of live entertainment and advocates of pantomime, this year’s awards are being re-named “The Pantomime Awards in association with Butlin’s.”
Mike Godolphin, Entertainment Director for Butlin’s commented: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the UK Pantomime Awards. As the home of entertainment, our live pantomime show is enjoyed by thousands of guests week in week out across our three resorts. We’re proud to show our support for the industry through our sponsorship of these awards and we’re really looking forward to the ceremony next month.”
Earlier this week, the Pantomime Awards in association with Butlin’s revealed that two awards have been dedicated to the memory of much loved and missed pantomime performers. The Barbara Windsor Award for Best Principal Boy and the Carmen Silvera Award for Best Mythical Being have been made possible thanks to donations from Windsor’s husband Scott Mitchell and Silvera’s agent Barry Burnett.
Scott Mitchell said: ”Barbara loved everything about pantomime and would be thrilled to know there is an award in her name and memory. Oh yes, she would!”
Barry Burnett said: “Carmen was dedicated to the performing arts and was hugely committed to charity through her association with The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings. This is a fitting tribute to recognise the love she had for performance, comedy and her charitable endeavours.”
The Pantomime Awards in association with Butlin’s will take place on Tuesday 19th April 2022 at the Trafalgar Theatre in London’s West End.
Nominations for the awards will be announced on Sunday 13th March at 7pm across the UK Pantomime Association’s social media platforms.
